The Faculty of Education is proud to announce the 2026 recipients of its annual Teaching Awards, to recognize excellence and commitment within Education’s academic staff:

The Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient is Dr. Emmanuel Tabi, who was presented a certificate at this morning’s Spring Convocation Ceremony. The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching is being given to Dr. Emma Harden-Wolfson.

Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation. The Faculty's second valedictorian from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Ryan, who has earned his B.Sc. (Honours), will have a personal story to share with us and some words of wisdom the entire audience will be able to learn from. In an interview with the ��VR��Ƶ Reporter, Ryan said support from family, professors and peers shaped both his academic and personal growth.

Four FRQSC New Academics Grants Awarded in the Faculty of Education

Four academics staff members in ��VR��Ƶ's Faculty of Education have been awarded Research Support for New Academics (NP) Grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC). Teresa Strong-Wilson (Professor, Department of Integrated Studies in Education) has received $155,478 in funding through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) for the ��VR��Ƶ Journal of Education. The competition, which runs every three to four years, supports a select number of ��VR��Ƶ journals.
