Sophia Hackel, PhD Student (Year 1)
Sophia Hackel is a PhD student at the Institute of Islamic Studies at 成人VR视频. In her research, she focuses on the intellectual history of the late Ottoman Empire and the early Turkish Republic, with particular focus on Sufism and Secularism. She received her master鈥檚 degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit盲t M眉nchen, where she worked on the public discourse between Veled 脟elebi 陌zbudak and Mehemt Ali Ayni. She scrutinized how the two intellectuals conceptualized Sufism, the importance they assigned to Ibn 士Arab墨鈥檚 thought, and how they engaged with European orientalist discourse. Extensive stays in Iran and Turkey provide a linguistic and cultural foundation for her research today.
