Experts: Psychotic disorders in听youth and听young听adults听

While overall rates of psychosis in Canada appear stable,听there听has听been听a听sharp increase听in听diagnoses听among adolescents and young adults,听and they are receiving diagnoses at younger ages than听did听members of older generations,听according to听a new study published in the听听

Researchers suggest the trend may reflect a mix of factors, including improved early diagnosis and treatment听and听increasing听consumption of psychoactive听substances.听

Romina Mizrahi听is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Director of the 成人VR视频 Research Centre for Cannabis.Her recent research听found cannabis disrupts brain activity in young adults prone to psychosis.听
