The Department of Political Science is inviting applications for course lecturer positions to teach in Fall 2026. When applying, please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and, if applicable, a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.
POLI 325-001 U.S. Politics (3 Credits - CAP 155)
The founding of the American political system, with emphasis on the major documents, the Constitutional Convention, and the Federalist Papers, as well as the development of the constitutional system. Other fundamental characteristics, including political thought and federalism, will be examined. The main institutions, including the presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court, will receive attention.
Monday and Wednesday 08:35 am-09:55 am, August 31, 2026 鈥� December 4, 2026. Location: RPHYS 112.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
- A completed PhD degree or enrolled in a doctoral program in Political Science or a discipline related to the course;
- Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course;
- The candidate's area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;
- Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.
POLI 342-001 Canadian Foreign Policy (3 Credits - CAP 80)
The development and articulation of Canadian foreign policy. Theoretical approaches. The environmental setting. Historical perspectives. Trans-Atlantic linkages. The American connection. The Common Market. The United Nations. Military security. Developing relations with Asia, Africa, Latin America. Canada in global society.

POLI 448-001 Gender and International Relations (3 Credits - CAP 80)
The course will help students deepen their understanding of international relations by introducing them to gender analysis of global politics and feminist approaches to international relations. Part one examines gender-sensitive and feminist theories in international relations research. The second part then applies these approaches to a range of substantive issues including security, violence, peacebuilding, international law and political economy.

POLI 448-001 Genre et relations internationales (3 Cr茅dits - CAP 80)
Ce cours aidera les 茅tudiants 脿 approfondir leur compr茅hension des relations internationales en les initiant 脿 l'analyse de genre de la politique mondiale et aux approches f茅ministes des relations internationales. La premi猫re partie examine les th茅ories f茅ministes et sensibles au genre dans la recherche sur les relations internationales. La deuxi猫me partie applique ensuite ces approches 脿 une s茅rie de questions de fond, notamment la s茅curit茅, la violence, la consolidation de la paix, le droit international et l'茅conomie politique.
